Camping inside our home
After a really difficult and unpleasant experience with the movers who packed up our household last week, I have really enjoyed volunteering in the library. Being with my former students and fellow teachers has been a JOY!
After many weeks of giving away all sorts of items, I am now doing LOTS of cleaning and trying to completely empty our house of the remaining furniture and household items. It's been really special to give away our things to our neighbors who need them. Gifting saves people money and it also builds wonderful relationships. Today we gifted our beds, night stands, and lamps to a super awesome family and now we will be sleeping on camping cots on the floor for the next week until we fly to Maine next week! We also rented a U-Haul truck and delivered many furniture items to a friend who moved back to Alaska with no furniture at all--a win/win for everybody! Yes, we will need to get some furniture once we get to Maine, but that's a story for later.
